This was a truly exceptional place to stay and a magnificent experience of traditional hospitality. The room and outdoor onsen were amazing and the staff and service was on a different level. The meals were both delicious and an experience. The beautiful falls and springs were right there, and a nice walk down to the remarkable Site of Reversible Destiny (a cross between a park and a modern art installation). I do recommend parking in the lower lot and getting picked up by the shuttle if you are driving yourself—the final stretch is a single-lane two-way mountain road where you have to negotiate passing other cars, and even though it's got plenty of mirrors, I was glad to let the hotel's experienced driver navigate it for me. I will add that at least during my stay (end of March with cool weather), there were absolutely no issues with bugs as described in some other reviews.

We treated ourselves to this place (compared to our more modest accommodations elsewhere in Japan) and it was TOTALLY worth it. Amazing location, flawless service and facilities, meals unlike any I have ever had. And it is 5 minutes from a gorgeous river, waterfall, and lush green forest which i am sure is especially amazing in the fall (with the many maple trees growing in the forest). It is located on the side of a hill and requires a bit of a steep drive up but it is no problem for a taxi. Nice onsen facilities and private balconies that overlook the valley below. Meals are provided in private rooms just for your party only. Gorgeous! Amazing.

The hotel is so beautiful and well looked after. We were greeted at the front door, which felt so welcoming. We were then offered sweets and freshly made matcha green tea. There is such an amazing view over the countryside, and the lush greenery. We had the pleasure of having the traditional Kaiseki dinner and full breakfast. Everything was so deliciously and amazingly presented! All of the staff were so lovely and welcoming, and had fairly good English. We did not find it hard to communicate as long as we used google translate for part of the conversation. We will definitely be back again! We absolutely loved this special oasis. Thank you!

One of the best Japanese ryokans I've stayed in. Conveniently located near to Nagoya yet secluded enough to enjoy a couple of days away from the crowd. The private onsen rooms have a to die for view of Nagoya and everything is excellently run and with wonderfully attentive staff. The Yoro park is a bonus where you can enjoy nature walks.

The Dinner & breakfast was fantastic!! Staff were wonderful. The location incredible up in the mountains with a waterfall nearby. Choosing a yukuta was very nice. Bedding was comfy. Would definitely go back.
